At least, whatever I wanted to put up is already up. I still have more to fix up but I don’t know how much more I can do with other projects coming up. Check it out anyway.

Here’s a small collection of photos I took this semester for my liquid motion photo project. When I say small, I mean thousands of photos were taken, mostly of nothing. These type of pictures have become generic by now, but I’m still proud of myself for how much I’ve improved, developed, and learned about all kinds of photography and camera technology in the past year. It was really only a year ago when I still didn’t have even a cellphone camera and barely knew how to use the DSLRs. Of course I have the club to thank and all the people who wasted their free time to help me on this.Mixing colours was fun.

I liked the sharpness of this in the large version. Didn’t like the “motion blur” problem.

Reminds me of those milk commercials (there is a penny in there).

Yay double splash.

This was the closest thing I could get to a mid-air splash. >:

We thought it would be fun to throw cookies in the leftover milk.

A few days later we tried experimenting with soap bubbles on a glass, then dropping liquid into the glass. A lot of times, it would pierce through the bubble without popping. You can see a drop sitting on the bubble in this one.

It even stretches the bubble a little here.

I had more cookies with me. >3> Favourite shot.

Second favourite, hu hu.

That’s all for now. I think there were plenty more interesting ones but going through them all again is a little tedious.

Another semester has ended. As usual, it was fun at times and it was hell at other times. It’s hard to believe how fast time is moving. Something always keeps me busy. I’ve done lots of projects this session and hope to post them once I can get them organized or figure out how to display them. I’m making a list here to make sure I remember all the things I want to do in the next few weeks I have off.

Trying to take high-speed photographs of dripping water without a trigger is like playing Beatmania in ultra-insane lunatic mode (if there were such a thing). If I have the hand-eye coordination to play bemani games, why doesn’t it transfer to this as easily?
The above image was my first attempt at shooting a water droplet a few months back. Surprisingly I got a crown on my first try but didn’t think about composition or technical issues. I would someday love to get from that to this, but as of now I’ve still had little luck, little hope, and no equipment. I wonder if I should either spend hours understanding, building, and gathering what I need to make a laser flash trigger to aid myself, or spend those hours just shooting the way I have been. Either way, time always runs thin.
I’ve been gone for a while. A list of reasons should be inserted here, but I shouldn’t have to explain myself to an audience which mostly consists of me to begin with. I might feel more obligated to write if I had thoughts of more substance to say, or if a hoard of people were coming after me in ranger suits threatening for more posts. Neither are likely right now.
I still wish I could keep up to date with the exhibitions and events around the city, but I’ve been more involved with projects surrounding my school and academics. orz
And the one reason that drew me back after a long absence is to share a lineart I found from four years ago that I will probably never finish. Wow… those were the days. Looking at this one lineart says so much for me and I can say to myself that I was that kind of person.

It gives me a nice nostalgic feeling. I think I may never get those days back. I wonder how much I’ve even improved, if at all.
